Nike just announced the mass production of a self-lacing shoe the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0. This news comes after a tease we saw back in October on “Back to the Future” day starring “Marty McFly” himself.
Tiffany Beers, the Nike HyperAdapt Technical Leader and a Senior Innovator at Nike, explains:
When you step in, your heel will hit a sensor and the system will automatically tighten. Then there are two buttons on the side to tighten and loosen. You can adjust it until it’s perfect.
The Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 will be available in three colors. Nike+ members will be able to purchase it during the 2016 Holiday Season.
